Things to Look for in a Men’s Hair Loss Shampoo

There are thousands of miracle hair loss shampoos out there for men these days. So many of them claims to grow your hair back in a short amount of time.

The majority of men are now quite discouraged because many of these shampoos let them down. However, what many don’t realize is that there are successful shampoos out there that work quite well.

Certain ingredients have been proven to help with hair loss and regrowth. While many ingredients are still being tested, we do know of a few that have been highly successful.

In this article, we’ll tell you about the ingredients that stop your hair from thinning out and even promote further growth to keep your head full of hair much later than the average man would. If you’re interested in having hair well past the age you should have lost it, then read on! Also, check out if you’re looking for the best hair loss shampoos out there.

Dihydrotestosterone Blockers

The most important aspect of a men’s hair loss shampoo is the DHT blocker. A DHT blocker hinders dihydrotestosterone from damaging or blocking your hair follicles. Ordinarily, DHT is left to thin out the hair on your forehead and works its way over your entire head.

You should see at least one DHT blocker in your hair loss shampoo. If not, then consider that shampoo a scam right away. While there are a number of DHT blockers out there, we’ve found that the following two are the most successful. Take a look:

1. Saw Palmetto Extract

Saw Palmetto Extract comes from the saw palmetto fruit from the Southeast of the United States. The extract is capable of blocking around 50% of the DHT going on in the average man’s system. Using this extract alone can cut your hair loss in half. Of course, you would still have other ingredients encouraging hair growth in a hair loss shampoo, so this is a very good start.

One of the main advantages of saw palmetto extract is that it is entirely natural. Most DHT blockers are synthesized in a lab and can potentially contain unexpected side effects. This one, on the other hand, has none.

One thing you should note with saw palmetto extract is that it tends to react negatively when placed with a synthesized DHT blocker. Make sure when you buy a hair loss shampoo with this substance that it is the only DHT blocker inside it.

2. Ketoconazole

Ketoconazole actually has multiple uses. Not only does it prevent hair loss, but it also helps remove skin rashes and deal with dandruff.

Instead of hinder DHT by a certain percentage, Ketoconazole actually blocks the reaction that causes testosterone to become DHT. Essentially, the substance keeps your testosterone healthy and stops it from changing to the aggressive DHT hormone.

Ketoconazole isn’t much good for people who have already lost their hair. (Or some of it) However, if you still have your hair and want to keep it that way, ketoconazole is a brilliant choice!

Hair Growth Ingredients

As we’ve mentioned, the above substances only hinder the DHT process. They don’t bring your hair back. The following ingredients are proven to thicken your hair and even regenerate some damaged hair follicles.

Your shampoo should contain at least one of these as well as the DHT blocker. It may use a different one, but again, we believe these to be the most successfully proven ingredients.

1. Niacin

Niacin is actually vitamin B3 and has had a lot of success with restoring a head of hair. It takes several months for any real change to be noticed but many balding men are now able to cover their scalp thanks to Niacin.

It is important to note that Niacin doesn’t cause you to grow hair in places where it no longer does. The idea is that it increases the rate of growth for your healthy hair follicles and allows you to cover up any bald spots with the longer hair.

2. Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil is quite a popular choice these days. The reason for this is that the oil has all the positive effects of other ingredients but doesn’t cause any itchiness or other negative side effects. It has a similar level of success to Niacin, but it is easier to find and cheaper to incorporate into a men’s hair loss shampoo.

As we’ve already mentioned, many hair loss shampoos will have different elements to them than these, such as minoxidil. However, we believe that the above ingredients are the most successful for getting a full head of hair, or at least the appearance of one, without any harmful side effects.

Hair loss solutions are improving at a rapid rate these days. While the current solutions are fantastic and should be used by any man that has a balding problem, I’m sure we’ll have even better solutions in no time!
